Each day brings a new beginning. It’s a fresh start to possibilities for each of us. What we do with the things that cross our path is exclusively up to us. How we handle the bumps in the road is what defines us as people. There will always be bumps in the road. It is inevitable. It comes with living.

How many of us are truly open to experience each new day? Every moment is another chance for us to elevate and evolve, an opportunity for us to make choices that reflect what we have learned. Yet why do we linger in old patterns and habits?

Many of us know the rules.

For example, we all know that if we want to shed some pounds, we have to eat healthily and exercise. But knowing is completely different from doing. We may “know” that a partner stifles our growth, yet because of our fears, we stay in the relationship. I’m not saying that we can’t learn from “negative” experiences—in fact, many of our greatest lessons may come from our perceived “negative” ordeals.
