Strengthen us, Lord, for the days ahead –
The loss of loved ones – our deepest dread.
Heartache and pain are sure to come
When those close depart for their heavenly home.
Though we know they go to a much better place,
We survive the hurt only by your grace.
Help us rely on your tender care,
As you reach out in love, our grief to bear.
It’s these difficult times you carry us through,
Teaching us to depend solely on you;
So strengthen us , Lord, prepare our heart
To lean on you when loved ones depart.
