After 41 years of relevance and significance to a cult following of soap opera viewers, America’s iconic daytime TV series ‘All My Children’ has come an end. With emotional responses from fans all over the country, it looks like the highly regarded soap opera’s impact goes far beyond its decades of intense drama.

Today at 1PM EST, while many of us were working hard to get through the day on the job, we’re sure there were quite a few stay at home moms glued to the TV screen to say goodbye to the ABC staple which premiered way back in 1970.

Fast forward to 2011. With soap opera ratings plummeting the last few years, there’s plenty of talk about whether or not the show will morph into an Internet-only series. Albeit a unique idea concerning the future consumption of hit TV shows, one of the most popular cast members Susan Lucci is still up in the air on whether her not her role will continue after today’s cliffhanger. Recently confirmed reports reveal ‘All My Children’ co-stars Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley have already signed on to participate.
