Christian comic Akintunde is at it again. He’s looking for some new comic talent to add to his “Rebirth of Comedy” Tour this year.
Katt Williams clones need not apply; Akintunde is looking for Christian comics to bring on the road with him. The comedian, who is releasing his DVD stand-up special, “The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But,” has toured with Creflo and Taffi Dollar for the last three years and was a writer for BET’s “The Mo’Nique Show.”
After starting his career as a secular comic, Akintunde says he found the greatest personal and career success after he became a Christian. His “The Search for the One” auditions start in Chicago tonight and move to three cities before the final round in South Carolina. The final round winner will get the opening spot on Akintunde’s “Rebirth of Comedy” Tour, a $2,500 cash prize, a photo shoot, media kit and representation by The Assignment Agency, a Southern-based talent management company that also represents Akintunde.
