Inforum reported that Fargo resident Rosemary Sauvageau was crowned Miss North Dakota on Saturday, making her the first African-American to receive the title. Sauvageau was ready to give up after getting second runner-up in 2010 and first runner-up in 2011. But her mother convinced her to give it one last shot in 2012. Sauvageau, a musician, blew the judges away with her piano rendition of ‘Honey rag’ from the musical ‘Chicago’ and interviewing response. At 24 years old, this is the last year that she could run for Ms North Dakota.
