Two Teens in Crime Spree Not New to Crime
Two teenagers accused of going on a crime spree have been cuttin’ up for some time. IMPD’S Gregg Bieberich says the 15- and 17-year-olds are suspected of being involved in more than the five separate crimes committed Wednesday morning, including the death of a man who was shot while sitting in his driveway. Police don’t yet have a motive for the crime spree because the 17-year-old is in the hospital for a medical condition and hasn’t been interviewed by police.
Mama Tried to Get Son Arrested
The mother of one of Wednesday’s crime spree suspects says she begged the Marion County juvenile court to lock her son up last fall. Tyease Dunn told the “Indianapolis Star,” the court slapped the boy on the hand and sent him home. Dunn’s 17-year-old son is on probation and home monitoring for the armed robbery of a man in November.
Local Woman Shares Carnival Cruise Nightmare
A Noblesville teenager aboard the Carnival cruise ship stranded at sea for several days is safe in Alabama. Eighteen-year-old Brianna Adkins was one of more than four-thousand people on the cruise ship when its engine room caught fire on Sunday, knocking out power and plumbing to nearly the entire boat. The Carnival Triumph was towed to port and docked in Mobile, Alabama last night.
Speedway Bill Speeding Forward at the Statehouse
A bill that would give tax breaks to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for improvements is now heading to the full House. The proposal would create an Indianapolis Motorsports Investment District and tax revenue generated in the district would be reinvested in the track. IMS officials want new lights for night races, new video boards and LED screens, updated seating and restrooms, as well as parking, tunnels and gates.
Bisard Case Moves to Fort Wayne
The trial for the IMPD officer accused of being drunk when he crashed his patrol car into a group of motorcyclists will be held in Fort Wayne. Mary Wells says she is excited that progress is being made in the case against the man who killed her son. A Marion County judge ruled in December to move David Bisard’s trial because of “intense media scrutiny”, but the location wasn’t announced until yesterday.
Child Left in Car…Again
An Indianapolis father is facing charges for allegedly leaving his autistic son alone in a car. Police say the three-year-old was left unattended for about 30-minutes and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. According to a hospital report, the child’s diaper was very full, he wasn’t clean and it appeared he had not eaten a meal. Ronald Albrecht was arrested for child neglect.
