A Chicago woman was charged with felony aggravated cruelty to an animal and misdemeanor domestic battery, after allegedly stabbing her cousin’s cat, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Tish Coleman, 31, has been charged with felony aggravated cruelty to an animal and misdemeanor domestic battery. A Cook County judge ordered her held on $75,000 bond Monday.
Coleman and her 26-year-old cousin were fighting Friday evening at their apartment when she hit her cousin in the face and tore her shirt. Coleman’s cousin wrestled her out of the door and closed it shut. However, Coleman continued to cause a disturbance. Another woman entered the apartment door when the cousin’s cat ran out. When Coleman’s cousin eventually left the apartment, she saw blood on the floor. Coleman and her cat were gone.
The woman eventually found her cat on the stairwell with puncture wounds on its left side. The cops arrested Coleman a block away and found a Swiss pocket knife in her purse. According to court documents obtained by The Tribune, Coleman denied harming the cat.
This is not the first time Coleman has been in trouble with the law.
In 2001, she was arrested for battery and simple assault and in 2008 for criminal damage to property and domestic battery, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak. Coleman was also cuffed for criminal damage to property in 2004 and domestic battery in 2003, Kubiak added.
