A recently conducted poll shows a slight majority of U.S. Catholics think the church is going in the right direction, but is out of touch with members.  The Quinnipiac [[ Quinn-neh-pe-ack ]] University poll reports 52-percent say the church is on the correct path, but another 52-percent say it’s out-of-touch with American members.  Fifty-five percent think the new Pope should move the church in new directions.

Many members want to see the church change its stance on contraception, mariage within the priesthood, gay marriage and the ordaining of women.
