Entertainment One Music Announces New Strategic Partnership with
Warryn Campbell’s My Block Records
Nashville, TN — Top independent music brand Entertainment One Music (eOne Music) has inked a new deal creating a strategic partnership with My Block Records (My Block), the label and entertainment enterprise helmed by multiple Grammy®-winning super producer Warryn Campbell, announced this week for eOne Music by James Robinson, SVP of eOne Music Nashville. Both known as formidable powers for award-winning top talent – excelling as independent labels in developing brilliant, distinctive voices in Gospel and other genres – eOne Music and My Block forge a strategic partnership to bring the latest outstanding, fresh music from new and superstar artists, with a slate of new music on deck for 2013 and more.
In this deal, the strategic partnership will utilize eOne Music’s multi-faceted channels of production, distribution, sales, marketing, communications and more to support a range of My Block’s artists. In addition to the highly-anticipated debut Art & Beat EP album newly-released from rising R&B star JoiStaRR, upcoming releases will include a single in May 2013 and album from Campbell’s wife Erica Campbell of Mary Mary, a new single in June and album from his Gospel super group Soul Seekers in Fall 2013, as well as releases planned from Jason McGee and Jason Champion for 2014. With Entertainment One Television (eOne Television) already producing the hit Mary Mary reality series airing on WE tv, this deal expands the eOne relationship with Campbell, the My Block group’s founder, longtime producer and songwriting partner.
States James Robinson, SVP eOne Music Nashville: “This strategic partnership with My Block Records is an exciting venture for the eOne family. The eOne television production Mary Mary has been a great hit on WE tv, and at eOne Music, we continue to drive forward producing some of the nation’s preeminent voices today. I have long held and have the highest respect for Warryn Campbell and his immeasurable talents personally and professionally. Our shared commitment to music that captivates listeners, inspires their spirits and encourages their faith was a natural fit with us at eOne, and it’s a blessing to create this strategic partnership to release new Gospel and R&B work with My Block.”
Adds Warryn Campbell, Founder and CEO of My Block Records: “I am very excited to be partnered with a company that truly understands the future of entertainment. Working across multiple genres with My Block, it’s important to have a clear vision and the resources for artists to be successful across multiple platforms today. In this strategic partnership with eOne Music, we share a similar vision in supporting Gospel’s great history and taking it to another level as well as other genres, to serve both emerging and established artists in creating innovative work that paves the way now and for the future. Let’s go.”
Winning a Grammy Award this past year in Best Gospel Song for his songwriting work with Mary Mary on their hit song “Go Get It,” adding to his two past wins, the multi-talented hitmaker continues to be an unparalleled force in music, with prodigious skills as a musician, songwriter, producer and music executive. My Block Records continues to produce accomplished projects across multiple genres, delivering hit songs in gospel, R&B, soul and hip-hop, possessing a keen acumen for pioneering new sounds and an astute talent for identifying and developing top-quality artists.
