Bishop T.D. Jakes, one of America’s top preachers and also an author, conference speaker and executive producer of several films, is coming to Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids on Thursday, May 2, for an event hosted by gospel singer and Lighthouse pastor Marvin Sapp.
The event is free. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the program begins at 7 p.m. on the church campus, 600 Burton St. SE.
Jakes, 55, is senior pastor of Potter’s House Church in Dallas, Texas. He has written several books and has television programs on TBN and BET.
His “Woman, Thou Art Loosed” book led to a series of conferences and a 2004 feature film with the same title, as well as sequels.
Jakes is frequently cited by national media as one of the most influential preachers and black figures in North America.
Sapp has performed on programs featuring Jakes, including his annual “ManPower” conferences.
