Lawrence Taylor Jr., 31, was jailed without bond in Powder Springs, just 25 miles northwest of Atlanta. The charges stem from an alleged accident at the younger Taylor’s home on Saturday when a girl, described as under 16, claims Taylor Jr. “did with force spread her legs then pulled her bathing suit to the side and gave her oral sex,” according to the arrest warrant.

Taylor Jr. could face up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the aggravated sodomy or aggravated child molestation charges. A statutory rape conviction carries 10 to 20 years in prison, under Georgia state law.

Ironically, Taylor Sr. faced felony statutory rape charges in 2010, after having sex with an underage prostitute. While he served no jail time, he is a registered sex offender and is on probation. He ended up pleading guilty to lessor charges of patronizing a prostitute and sexual misconduct.

When a 17-year-old Taylor Jr. spoke at his dad’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1999 in Canton, Ohio, he spoke high of him.

“If I could pick anyone to be my father, I’d pick Lawrence Taylor,” Taylor Jr. said that day.
