1. NTSB Blames Intern For Being Hilariously Inappropriate

After San Francisco area news channel KTVU mistakenly reported the names of the pilots on crashed Asiana Flight 214 as “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow,” all on live television, the National Transportation Safety Board has issued an apology for the racist, but still pretty damn funny misinformation, saying a summer intern “acted outside the scope of his authority” and that “appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such a serious error is not repeated.”

2.This Snowden Thing Is Still Going On

At a meeting with human-rights groups Friday, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden discussed his plans to leave Russia for one of the Latin American countries that have offered him asylum, though noted that while he “accepts all offers,” he has to first get out of the Moscow airport. To do so safely, Snowden will be asking Russia for temporary asylum — a request he previously withdrew after Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that Snowden stop publishing information that “brought harm” to the United States. Snowden told reporters Putin’s terms aren’t a problem though because “No actions I take or plan are meant to harm the U.S. … I want the U.S. to succeed.”
