Dozens Displaced After Apartment Fire

Dozens of families were displaced from their homes after an early morning fire at the Woodbridge Apartments on Indianapolis’ northwest side

Firefighters said 16 units were burned and the fire caused $500,000 in damages.

The 43 residents displaced by the fire are receiving assistance from the Red Cross and the Indianapolis Fire Department.

Female Body Found In Hendricks County Field

Brownsburg officials are investigating after a decomposed female body was found in a Hendricks County field on last evening.

The body was found in the 2700 block of North Raceway Road near the Marion County line.

The Hendricks County Coroner said that the body was found by people who were walking along the road. Few other details were released.

 

Kayaker Drowns In White River

Officials are investigating after a 29-year-old man drowned in the White River in Morgan County near Martinsville on yesterday evening.

Crews were called to the scene near State Road 39 and State Road 67 just before 8 O’Clock.

Two people, both 29, were kayaking near a dam when they lost their fishing gear.

They waded out to get it, but the victim became caught in the current, and did not resurface.

Emergency officials had to wait on advanced gear to safely retrieve the body.

 

ISU To Honor Larry Bird

Indiana State University is honoring one of its biggest legends with a bronze statue.  Athletic Director Ron Prettyman told the “Tribune Star,” the 15-foot-tall sculpture of Larry Bird will be placed outside the basketball arena.  A dedication ceremony will be held November 9th before the season opener against Ball State.

 

Indiana Woman Involved With Anthony Wiener

A southwestern Indiana woman who claims to have engaged in online sex chats with New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner has confirmed her identity.

23-year-old Sydney Leathers of Princeton told “Inside Edition” that Weiner disgusted her and that “he’s not who I thought he was.”

Leathers says Weiner started corresponding with her last July, telling her that he loved her and she reciprocated. But now she says she would tell the embattled mayoral candidate to “stop lying, stop embarrassing his wife and get help.”
