Oscar nominated director, Lee Daniels will receive the Director Award during the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards which are the first awards of this 2013 season. He is being recognized for directing Lee Daniels’ The Butler.The awards will take place on October 21 in Beverly Hills. According tot eh Hollywood Reporter: The Hollywood Film Awards are determined by founder and executive director Carlos deAbreu and an advisory committee. De Abreu tells THR, “It’s a great honor for us to recognize Lee’s outstanding work with our top directing honor of the year. His tremendous vision and versatility provides us with films that are both critical and box office successes.”
