Nearly 30,000 IPS students are heading back to the classroom today.  This will be their first day back in class since an extended Christmas holiday vacation due to the snow and arctic temps that caused the district to cancel class.  Some sidewalks that students need to access bus stops are still snow-covered after a weekend of warmer temperatures and rain. Therefore, the school district is asking homeowners and businesses to take the time to make sure their sidewalks are snow-free so students can get to school safely, keeping them out of the streets in the pathway of vehicles.
