A lot of folks were surprised that Oprah wasn’t nominated for an Oscar this year for her role in “Lee Daniel’s The Butler”. She would have been in the Best Supporting Actress category.
Oprah says she isn’t upset at all about being snubbed and applauded the women who were nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category – Julia Roberts, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence, June Squibb and Sally Hawkins.
”I do not think I was robbed at all. How dare anybody say that I was robbed … Robbed? Are you kidding? Never, never, never!
”Because when you look at the category – Julia, and Sally, and June, and Jennifer and Lupita!”
She also said,
”That’s what’s so wonderful about the Oscars,” she told Access Hollywood. “There are wonderful films, and the fact that you have so many films that you can’t even get people in all the categories. And the fact that I, actually, after 15 years was able to actually do it.”
