(HOUSTON) — The Houston Fire Department battled a five-alarm building fire in the Montrose area Tuesday.

The fire was at a 368-unit apartment complex under construction. It was being built around Magnolia Cemetery in the 2400 block of West Dallas at Montrose near downtown Houston.

An HFD spokesperson said wind created challenges for firefighters. The fire was reported around 12:30pm, and it took more than 80 units and 200 firefighters about two hours to get the flames under control. The building was a total loss.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

One construction worker was rescued from the building, jumping to the HFD ladder after scaling down the building from one balcony to a lower one to avoid the flames.

No injuries were reported. All construction workers have been accounted for.
