There’s a new development Monday morning in the search for hundreds of kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls. The terror group Boko Haram has released a video purportedly showing some of the 276 girls who’ve been missing since mid-April. In the video, the group’s leader says the teens have converted to Islam and will be held hostage until a deal is struck with the Nigerian government to release imprisoned militants. Word of the video comes just one day after Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan said he thinks “success will soon be achieved” in locating the girls.  This video also follows the weekly U.S. presidential address on Mother’s Day Weekend that was delivered by First Lady Michelle Obama instead of her husband, where she condemned this mass kidnapping and described the abductions as an unconscionable act – ‘grown men attempting to snuff out the aspirations of young girls’.  She expressed she and her husband’s outrage and fact that they were heartbroken as parents of two girls.
