With school out for the summer, the weekday opportunity that children have to get at least one or two decent, nutritious meals each day is reduced.  But that where the Summer Servings program comes in. Summer Servings is a fun way for children to receive meals at no cost during the summer! Summer Servings provides a fun and nutritious meal program for children ages 18 and under. There are some 200 Summer Servings locations all over Marion County that are open weekdays from now till the first part of August. Summer Servings lunches (and breakfasts in some cases) are served in safe, fun locations all over the city/county including schools, churches, camps, community centers and Indy Parks locations. Many locations are easily recognized by the Summer Servings sign. Kathy Pataluch of the Indy Hunger Network and Ashley Weaver, a VISTA worker for Summer Services appeared on Afternoons with Amos to explain Summer Servings and encourage the community to come out.  Again it’s open to all children 18 and Under. No registration or ID needed.  Meals must be eaten on site.  Click the Links to Search for a Summer Servings location near you. Summer Servings Locations  http://scnweb.doe.state.in.us/external_forms/2014_SFSP_Feeding_Sites_MarionCountyOnly.pdf Or call the Help Line at 2-1-1.
