Texas City’s shelter in place order ended just before six this morning. The smell of rotten eggs was strong due to a Sulfur gas leak at the Valero plant. Texas City Emergency Management put the shelter in place order in effect about two thirty Sunday morning. Crews were working on the Sulfur recovery unit at the Texas City Valero chemical refinery and something went wrong. No serious injuries reported in connection with the gas leak.
