Rev Al Sharpton Brings ‘HANDS UP’ Voter Drive to Georgia
Rev Al Sharpton will join National Action Network’sClayton-Henry Chapter for a press conference rallying for the improvement of public transportation and for the return of MARTA Transit to the area.
Rev. Al Sharpton will then preach at the Center of Hope Church of God in Christ in Riverdale, GA for a Hands Up Vote rally. His message will urge African Americans to vote in their statewide election on November 4th, encouraging them to show up in unprecedented numbers to vote on a local and statewide level.
Rev. Al Sharpton said, “Both Michael Brown and Eric Garner (killed in Staten Island, NY by a police chokehold) died reportedly with their hands up. We must take our hands and vote.”
Rev. Sharpton has already toured California, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. He will return to Ferguson, MO on October 31st to keynote the kick off for the four day Justice for Michael Brown weekend of events.
