SAUDI-US-ROYALS-DIPLOMACY-OBAMA-SALMAN

As the critics continue to pipe up over First Lady Michelle Obama’s lack of head wear while visiting Saudi Arabia this week, the White House is responding by brushing off the controversy. The First Lady chose not to wear a head scarf which is a requirement for women in Saudi Arabia. White House spokesman Eric Schultz said Mrs. Obama’s apparel was consistent with U.S. precedent. While criticism flies around, Schultz noted that former First Lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not wear head scarves during official visits to Saudi Arabia either.
