The Houston Rockets have held on and will live to see another game in the 2015 NBA Playoffs. Houston avoided elimination –despite heavy rains and flooding that have taken over the area– by beating the Golden State Warriors finally in Game Four of the Western Conference finals on Memorial Day evening.  The score was 128-115. Golden State now holds a 3-1 lead and can close out the best-of-seven set with a victory at home on Tuesday night. Warriors star and NBA MVP Stephen Curry took a scary fall in the first half but was able to return to play.

Playoff action continues tonight as the Cleveland Cavaliers look to sweep the Atlanta Hawks when they host Game Four of the Eastern Conference finals. LeBron James and the crew will take the floor at the Quicken Loans Arena for game time at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.

EXTRA: Speaking of LeBron, he’s tapped into his social activist side again making comments about the unrest in his city after a Cleveland police officer was acquitted of manslaughter charges stemming from shooting and killing an unarmed couple in a car. That officer, Michael Brelo, and 12 other officers fired 137 shots killing the couple. See his comments HERE.

In tennis action, it’s one and done at the French Open for 15th seeded American powerhouse, Venus Williams.  The 34-year-old lost her first-round match to fellow American Sloane Stephens 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 at Roland Garros. The seven-time major champion was a French Open runner-up to her younger sister Serena in 2002 and hasn’t reached a quarterfinal in Paris since 2006. Meanwhile, reigning champion and two-time winner Maria Sharapova and fellow former world number-one Victoria Azarenka won their opening round matches pretty easily. Sharapova overcame a cold on Day Two to advance.  Read more on the coverage of the Venus-Sloane match and what it may mean, HERE.
