Metro police are looking for three men after a robbery and shooting of a man who was just going home from work. They say the victim was robbed at around one this morning near 21st Street and Tibbs Avenue on the west side.  The suspects shot him in the rear after the theft. He’s listed in good condition.

An Indianapolis Metro Police Department chaplain is in hot water today. John Robert Fiers allegedly admitted paying for sex and is now facing prostitution charges. Police say they were led to Fiers in April while investigating a woman advertising “physical services” online.  She told police about three appointments with a man who identified himself as “Bob from Noblesville,” who showed her his IMPD badge and admitted he was a chaplain. Fiers was a volunteer chaplain for about eight years. He’s since been dismissed.

A suspect has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed another patron at a gym in Lawrence. This happened Tuesday afternoon according to WRTV-6 at the LA Fitness on Pendleton Pike. Witnesses said a man stabbed the 20-year-old victim while he was working out on a machine inside the gym. He’s at IU-Methodist Hospital in critical condition after surgery. Bryan Fearman, was later identified and taken into custody. He is now facing a preliminary charge of attempted murder.

Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus are here in Marion County, according to the health department. It’s the first time this year that the virus has been detected. That positive sample came from a trap in Washington Township. If you have standing water in containers of any size on your property, including bird baths, you should dump them every week.

Indianapolis school districts are trying to minimize waits at the bus stop with a new program. The “Here Comes the Bus” website and app lets parents track their child’s bus in real time. It costs $3.50 a month or $18.50 a year. It’s available in the App Store or Google Play. The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township is already promoting its use to parents of their district. Click HERE to learn more about this new tool.

In national news…

While the investigation of the death a Chicago-area woman, named Sandra Bland, who was stopped by Texas State Police and was found days later hanging in her jail cell is changing from one of a suicide to murder, thanks to Tuesday’s release of dash cam footage, our attention turns a little closer to home. In our neighbor to the east, questions still remain following Sunday’s police-involved shooting in Cincinnati, Ohio. Video footage of the incident in which a University of Cincinnati police officer shot and killed an unarmed black man has still not been released. Prosecutors say they are “rapidly investigating” what led Officer Ray Tensing to shoot Samuel Dubose, 43, during a traffic stop there.

Jurors who found James Holmes guilty of murder will be back in court today to begin the process of deciding whether the “Colorado Theater Shooter” should be executed or spend the rest of his life in prison. Holmes was convicted last week in that shooting spree that left 12 dead and 70 others wounded at a suburban Denver movie theater three years ago.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump isn’t holding back when it comes to fellow White House hopeful Lindsey Graham. Trump stunned many when he gave out the senator’s personal cellphone number during a campaign event on Tuesday in South Carolina. But, why stop there? Trump also called Graham an “idiot.”

Back here at home…your commute is getting easier. A major interstate ramp in downtown Indy is back open today. INDOT says the ramp from I-65 north to I-70 west in the south split is rebuilt. They say the project was on-budget and ahead of schedule.  It was part of a $50 million-dollar plan to rebuild about 80 highway bridges across the state.

In Sports…

When the Pacers hit the court next season, they’ll be wearing Hickory Huskers uniforms for some of the season games. Hickory was the fictional team created for the movie Hoosiers that was inspired by the 1954 Milan Miracle. Pacers President Larry Bird says the team is honored to wear the uniforms because of the attention it’ll bring to the storied history of Indiana basketball.

Indianapolis Weather…

Mostly sunny skies today, with a high of 83 degrees.
