As a week full of insightful panels to discuss policy changes for some of the nation’s most pressing issues comes to a close, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference will hold its annual Phoenix Awards banquet with keynote speaker President Barack Obama.

This year’s black-tie event will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. NewsOne will livestream the event, set to take place between 6:00 p.m – 9:30 p.m. ET.

This year’s honorees include Amelia Boynton Robinson, Fred David Gray, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, Juanita Jones Abernathy, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

The CBCF’s Annual Legislative Conference gathers members of the Congressional Black Caucus and others interested in politics and policy to Washington, D.C. each year for several days of meetings, panel discussions, and celebrations. The anticipated Phoenix Award’s was created to celebrate the accomplishments of those working to uplift the African-American community.
