The Family of the The Honorable William A. (Bill) Crawford, the longest serving African-American legislator in history and the most outstanding African-American elected official Indiana’s ever produced, has announced the schedule of his services. Bill Crawford will Lie In State in the Rotunda of the Indiana State Capitol downtown on this Thursday, October 1st from 11am until 8pm. The public is welcome to attend and pay their respects to Bill Crawford’s service to his community, his city, state and nation. At 12 Noon on Thursday, Governor Mike Pence, accompanied by the Crawford Family, will lay a wreath at Crawford’s casket, as a symbol of Respect and Honor on behalf of the People of Indiana. Funeral Services of Bill Crawford will be this Friday, October 2nd at Eastern Star Church, Main Campus. 5750 East 30th Street, Indianapolis. Viewing will be from 9am till 11am. Followed at 11am by Funeral Services. In Lieu of Flowers, the Crawford Family has asked that contributions be made to the following: Martin University. The Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation.
