The City of East Cleveland and a police officer are being sued for the Oct. 3, 2015 death of Christopher Kimble, Jr.
Kimble, 22, of Cleveland, was struck and killed by a city police cruiser on Superior Avenue while attempting to cross at Emily Street. He rolled onto the hood of the cruiser, struck the windshield and then fell to the ground.
His mother, Latoya Ceasor, is suing the city and officer Kyle Pettus, who was driving the police cruiser, for $25,000 in compensatory damages and any charges related to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 12.
