Arthur Jordan, local businessman and television personality, died unexpectedly from complications of a stroke, on Friday morning, February 19.

Most folks around town knew Jordan, simply as “Art”. He was a proud family man–father of two adult children–daughter, Treba and son, Deryck and grandfather of Alyssa. Jordan served as CEO and proprietor of Arthur Jordan and Associates—a successful training and development firm for decades here in Indianapolis and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

A native of Ruleville, Mississippi, Jordan attended college in Indiana and in Illinois. He was an alum of the University of Evansville and earned his master’s degree in Sociology from Western Illinois University. He later returned to the University of Evansville to teach and joined the Indiana State Teacher’s Association where later served the organization as an executive in the role of Humans Relations Director. Jordan gave selflessly to the city of Indianapolis, educating and informing the masses. He hosted a television program for many years on Indianapolis Government Access Channel 16.  Arthur Jordan was age 71.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SATURDAY:

On Saturday, February 27, Jordan’s life will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1003 West 16th Street, with final rites at Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to the Mozel Sanders Foundation, Inc., 709 N. Belmont Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.
