Actress Melissa Joan Hart opens up about her role in the film, God’s Not Dead 2.  Hart explains that she felt called to be a part of the film, despite what people close to her told her.

Hart plays the role of a history teacher, Grace Wesley, whose job comes under fire after she answers a student’s question about Jesus.  Hart says, “I had a hard time in my personal life being able to make room for this movie. I felt very persecuted within my own inner circle…I felt very called to do this movie.”

Hart says she had never seen the first of the two films, but watched it after she read the script for the second one.  She then says she felt called to play the role of Grace Wesley.

Hart explains that her decision to do the movie wasn’t well received by her family, because she had promised them to stay home with them.  “Ultimately, I decided I had to follow my heart and do what was right and show my family that this is an important film for me to make.”

God’s Not Dead 2 hit theaters on April 1st.  You can read more on the story here, and watch the trailer below.
