Kerry Washington and Serena Williams are just a few big names that have joined Sheryl Sandberg’s #LeanInTogether initiative.
Lean In is an initiative that encourages women to support each other. LeanIn.org says, “When a woman helps another woman, they both benefit. And when women celebrate one another’s accomplishments, we’re all lifted up. Together women can do more, go further, and change the world. Let’s #LeanInTogether.”
Washington starts off the video by saying “I’m not sure what my life would look like if it were not for Shonda Rhimes.” Serena Williams points out that her sister, Venus, is the woman who has had a huge impact on her life.
The whole purpose of the initiative is to bring women together to reach gender equality faster. According to the Lean In website, it will take an estimated 100 years to reach gender equality. You can read more on the story here, and check out the video below.
