If you’re looking for something else to do on this President’s Day, we’ve got you. First for the kids…The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is open today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at no charge. Yes it’s a free day.

The “Circus Starring You” exhibit is now open there, a new one for families to enjoy. Also kids can meet President Abraham Lincoln throughout the the day. Get more info HERE.

Also on a day that would typically be a closed day during this Winter month, the weather is so nice that the animals of the Indianapolis Zoo would like you to come see them. Many of the animals that prefer the warmer temps like the lions are expected to be out in their habitats.

For the activist in you, the Indiana Forest Alliance invites you to join them today at the South Atrium of the Indiana Statehouse downtown at 11:30 a.m. to “Stand Up for

USA, Oregon, Portland, Young women jogging in forest

Your Forests.” They ask you to bring a sign, wear green and help them send a message to Indiana lawmakers that you enjoy trees left standing and that state forests shouldn’t be logged to death. They want them to reduce the cutting down trees in Indiana State Forests because the rate that they’re doing so has ticked up to more than 400-percent of what it had been.

They’re providing a light lunch. Get more info and register HERE.

Indy, you can enjoy a favorite food at half-price for a good cause this week, starting today. Fly into more than two dozen eateries across the city for wings as a part of NUVO newsweekly’s “Indy Wings Week,” Monday through Sunday, February 26.

Part of the proceeds will go to benefit Second Helpings–a non-profit community kitchen in the business of addressing hunger while teaching valuable cooking and restaurant-related skills so that people can transform their lives. Various restaurants across the city are participating featuring chicken wings and even a taste of duck. To see the list of restaurants participating in this fundraiser during  “Indy Wings Week,” click HERE.
