A company spokesman says a payroll processor sent employee W-2 tax information, including names, addresses and Social Security numbers, to an unknown person by e-mail claiming to be a company official back in January.

More than 17,000 employees are affected. The spokesperson said they only recently learned there had been a breach when some employees reported that someone else had already filed their taxes. This type of scam was also pulled off in recent weeks against Scotty’s Brewhouse and Monarch Beverage Company.
