Indianapolis Public Schools’ foodservice staff will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch at sites around the district from October 2 to October 13. There will be nearly 25 locations providing meals, and expanded service to additional sites via The Bus Stop Café food bus. The Bus Stop Café will make stops at Haughville Branch Public Library, Martin Luther King Community Center and Stratford Apartments. Anyone under the age of 18 is able to eat at any of the sites for free. You do not have to be an IPS student to receive food. “We encourage families to come visit any of our sites for a hot, healthy meal featuring fresh fruits and vegetables to keep students energized for their Fall Break activities,” said IPS foodservice director Dena Bond.

The move came just days after a speech in which President Donald Trump said NFL players who take a knee instead of standing for the national anthem should be fired.
