“And the angel came in unto her and said, ‘Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women.’” (Luke 1:28)

We all want to be favored, but what we don’t realize is that favor is a bold “Kick me” sign to the enemy.

When you are favored, you will be targeted by the devil; trouble will seek you out, and hardship will be attracted to you.

Don’t want to believe me? Take Mary, the mother of Jesus, for example.

In Luke 1:30, the angel Gabriel visited her and told her she had found favor with God, because she had been chosen to give birth to the Messiah. Being favored is certainly a positve thing and being hand-picked to bring the long-awaited Savior into the world seems like a great honor. That is, until you remember that things went haywire in Mary’s life as a result of this supernatural favor and blessing.

Her husband-to-be considered putting her away to avoid public shame. She was an out-of-wedlock mom and there was a great stigma attached to that.
