SAVE THE DATE | INDIANA WORLD ASTHMA DAY

THIS FRIDAY MAY 4

(Friday) 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Monument Circle

1 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204

“World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma with a goal to improve asthma awareness and care around the world. In an effort to heighten awareness, educate patients and decrease the asthma burden, the asthma partners of Indiana have joined forces to celebrate Indiana World Asthma Day all month long.

In the state of Indiana, there are over 500,000 people with asthma, 8% of which are children. In an effort to help Indiana children learn about and manage their asthma, the Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition created The Adventures of Indiana Zones. These animated characters venture to Indiana cities on a continuous quest to defeat the evil asthma triggers that create problems in the lives of asthma patients.

Roni Ford Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition Director spoke to us today, along with Director of the Riley Asthma Program Dr. Nadia Krupp. Dr. Nadia Kruppis a pediatric pulmonologist in Indianapolis who treats conditions that affect a child’s respiratory system, like severe asthma or bronchitis.

Jim Harper Democrat for Secretary of State

Today we spoke to Jim Harper who is running for Secretary of State.

His Mission

“It is time for a new generation of leadership in state government. All too often, our state government has sided with those at the very top at the expense of ordinary Hoosiers. I’m running for Secretary of State because we desperately need a fresh perspective at the Statehouse. Our Secretary of State must set party politics aside and focus on improving the lives of all Hoosiers — not just special interests and party leaders. And that’s what I’ll do.”

Jim Harper was born and raised in Valparaiso, and he is a 2001 graduate of Valparaiso High School. He went on to graduate with highest honors from Indiana University and received his law degree, with high honors, from Georgetown University. After law school, Harper completed a federal judicial clerkship in Indianapolis.
