Annette Johnson for Pike Township Trustee

We are joined today on Community Connection by Annette Johnson who is running for Pike Township Trustee.

About Annette: “I am a proud, progressive, and longtime Pike Township resident. I hope to work with you to become the next Pike Township Trustee. We need Democrats who are going to fight for people, uplift our community, and not waste our tax dollars.

My favorite things about Pike Township are the diversity of people here in our community and I love Eagle Creek and the nature that can be found here on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

I have been a member of the Pike Township advisory board since 2000 and served for eight years as president of the Pike Township Democratic Club. I have a masters degree from Ball State University in Adult Community Education, Executive Development for Public Service and Career Technical Education and a bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Martin University. I currently work as an educator at the Marion County jail, helping people earn their GED.

I attend Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where I direct our famous Black History Month play, teach Sunday school, and lead our giant community garden. I serve on numerous boards (here’s a list of everything I’m involved in) including the Martin Center Sickle Cell Initiative, the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center, and Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light, and am active with Concerned Clergy, the Sierra Club, and other social justice work.”
