After a lifetime of dedicating herself to praise and worship, Erica Campbell knows it’s what’s on the inside that counts. The Grammy Award-winning gospel singer is now out with a book called More Than Pretty: Do the Soul Work that Uncovers Your True Beauty.
Intended to encourage readers to look beyond the issues that can be erased by contour brushes and Snapchat filters, More Than Pretty pushes readers to become more spiritually attractive.
Campbell was inspired to pen the book after developing her own spirit.
“I think there is greatness in all of us. Sometimes we have to do work to find it,” she said in an exclusive statement to ESSENCE. “I’ve done my own work and hopefully More Than Pretty will help others do the same.”
Campbell believes taking your inner pretty to the next level is the key to personal happiness.
“Joy and fulfillment are within reach and possible, but it starts with YOU! And how You feel about YOU,” she said. “There’s so much more than what’s on the outside—so let’s find that inner beauty and let it shine!”
