The BMV has a new Design for Driver’s License, Permits, & IDs.
“The introduction of this new design began in May 2019 and will be available online and at all branches across the state by mid-July. The new design includes the most modern and strongest security features available.”
***Your Indiana license, permit, or ID is still valid until the expiration date printed on the card. ***
“New Design Features:
Black and white laser engraved text and image
Tactile and UV features
Mini Portrait
Minor specific vertical card format with under 18 and under 21 wording
Indiana focused imagery with a race car for Driver’s Licenses and a cardinal indicator for IDs
Easier to find and read personal information
More durable card construction for a longer-lasting tamper resistant card
Real ID Impact:
The new design does not in any way impact Real ID status for anyone.
If you already have a Real ID and complete a renewal or amendment, you will still have the Real ID indicator in the top right hand corner.
If you do not have a Real ID and wish to apply for one, visit the Real ID page for information on documentation requirements.
If you do not have a Real ID and do not wish to apply for one, you will have the same option to not upgrade to Real ID while still receiving the new design.”

Camp Healing Tree – August 23rd – 25th
Camp Healing Tree is a special weekend camp for grieving children and teens ages 7 to 17
Apply/Volunteer Here: https://www.brookesplace.org/camp-healing-tree
Do you know a young person who would benefit from a weekend of grief support, encouragement and enjoyable activities? Camp Healing Tree is an opportunity for grieving young people to be with friends their age who have also had a loved one die and share the big feelings, thoughts and changes they experience through grief. By connecting in peer-based age groups, kids and teens find relief in knowing that they are not alone on the journey of grief.
Although the camp focuses on grief, there are many fun activities for campers to enjoy, such as swimming, arts and crafts, games, campfire, group discussions and outdoor adventures. Activities are facilitated by supportive volunteers to gently teach coping skills and build self-esteem and trust. While the camp environment is rustic, the cabins are modern and air-conditioned. A registered nurse will be at the camp at all times.
Camp Healing Tree, located on the west side of Indianapolis at Jameson Camp, Inc., begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and concludes after the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service for the camp participants and their families on Sunday.
