Robert Mathis has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.
The defensive lineman tied for the league lead with 4.5 sacks in five games during the month to help the Colts to a 5-0 record. He also recorded 16 tackles, forced two fumbles and had one pass defense. He had two sacks in the Colts’ 35-34 victory over New England on November 15.
Mathis is tied for second in the NFL in forced fumbles this season with five, and ranks tied for fifth with 9.5 sacks. It marks Mathis’ first career player of the month honor.
