REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio. — Even though the IndyCar season has just come to a conclusion, some teams are wasting no time in shoring up their drivers for the 2025 season which starts next March.

Meyer Shank Racing has announced that they have signed Felix Rosenqvist to a multi-year contract extension with the team.

“We’ve extended him for a couple more years,” team co-owner Mike Shank said “He did everything we asked of him. We, as a team, made a 30 or 40 percent gain in our performance this year. Between the two cars, we were in the top six in qualifying, if you include the Thermal race (non-points), 15 times. Last year it was zero.”

Rosenqvist finished 12th in the points and was the only driver the team had that started every race. Rosenqvist had six top-ten finishes this past season including a podium at the non-points-paying race at Thermal.

He has found a consistent place at MSR for the first time since leaving Chip Ganassi Racing in 2020. He’d been at Arrow McLaren after CGR where he was never under any long-term security despite seven top-five finishes including two podiums.

It’s unclear who Rosenqvist’s teammate will be in MSR’s other ride. David Malukas finished out the season in the other MSR car after the abrupt removal of Tom Blomqvist from the seat after the Indianapolis 500. He will be joining AJ Foyt Racing next year.
