Dancing with the Stars‘ is undergoing more of an overhaul this season than some of its stars’ faces.

As producers are still ‘Star’ searching for a new co-host to replace the departing Samantha Harris, now comes word they’re down a professional dancer too.

Lacey Schwimmer announced via Twitter that she won’t be returning to the show this season. On Friday she Tweeted the news:

“Hey twitterbugs! I will not be doing DWTS this season. But be sure to tune in! <3.” Later she added, “I’m off to bed! I’m sad I will not be on this season of #dwts too yall! Biglove<3”.

No word on if the decision was Schwimmer’s or the show’s, or what her future plans are.

And just as ‘DWTS’ fans were beginning to warm-up to the ‘So You Think You Can Dance‘ alum too. Quickly establishing a reputation as the dance floor rebel, Lacey brought a little more of her ‘So You Think’ dance funk to the ballroom than the judges were ready for, earning her some harsh criticisms early on. She also received some flack in the press over her weight during her three seasons on the show.

Schwimmer got her dancing-on-air break by making the Final Four on ‘SYTYCD’ Season 7. Seven must be her lucky number, because she first appeared as a pro dancer on Season 7 of ‘DWTS,’ where she came in third place with celeb partner Lance Bass. She was then paired with a ‘Jackass’ (Steve-O) in Season 8 and sizzled with ‘Iron Chef’ Mark Dascasco last season.

A replacement for Schwimmer has not been announced. Does anyone know what Julianne Hough is doing these days? How’s that music career working out for her?

The celebrity cast for Season 10 of ‘DWTS’ will be revealed in tidbits during the season finale of ‘The Bachelor’ on March 1. The new ‘Dancing’ season kicks off on March 22.
