Dr. Bobby Jones to Honor Paris Churches and Perform on a World Stage

 

Paris, TN — Dr. Bobby Jones is coming home on April 22. Jones will be taping four shows during his performance in Paris, TN to benefit organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, Lee School Academy for the Arts, Paris Henry County Arts Council, the Positive Club and Friends of the Library.

 

Jones said his main objective is to build positive relationships between diverse groups of people.

 

“The main purpose of my return to Paris is to help bridge the gap and spread love to all the citizens that live in the area where I was born,” Jones said. “We pray that Paris can be an example to many other small towns; that intelligent people exhibit respect, love, compassion, and peace to each other.  Paris, TN has all these characteristics. This is our central objective. I pray we pass the test. If so, this is just the beginning of many continuous positive relationships.”

 

Jones is a Henry county native and is credited with taking Gospel Music to mainstream airwaves via cable television. Bobby Jones Gospel, for which he is best known as host and executive producer, has been seen on BET since November 1980 and is one of the network’s most popular shows. Jones, along with the New Life Singing Aggregation and The Nashville Super Choir performs all styles of gospel music and welcomes an array of gospel artists.

 

The Bobby Jones Gospel Radio Show and The Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown, airs on The Sheridan Radio Network, has become a favorite of Gospel Music lovers from coast to coast.

 

Jones is a Grammy-award-winning artist as well as Ambassador of Dominica, West Indies.

 

Jones is returning to Paris to tape four shows and honor area churches.

 

“I’m coming home to give something back to Henry County,” Jones said. “a world stage through its biggest medium, television. The night of April 22 will be filled with laughter, joy, togetherness and a spiritual awareness that will bless us all.”

 

Reserve seating is $25 and general admission is $10. Tickets are available at Albert Ross Tharpe Services, Jack Jones Flowers and Gifts, Paris Civic Center and Foundation Bank. The show begins at 7 P.M. at Krider Performing Arts Center. Proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of West, TN, Paris Lee School Academy for the Arts, Paris Henry County Arts Council, the Positive Club and the Friends of the Library.

 

These shows will be aired worldwide on The Word Television Network. Many citizens in Paris receive the Word Network on Direct-TV channel 373. Ask your cable provider for more information.

 

Choirs or groups interested in being chosen as one of the four local artists for Dr. Bobby Jones live taping must audition.  Auditions will be March 23rd at KPAC from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M.  Applications may be picked up at the Arts Council office the week of March 15 and the deadline is March 19th by 4:30 P.M.  Late applications will not be accepted.
