Cincinnati’s Premiere Gospel Celebration: I Hear Music in the Air 2010

Set for Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30

 

Cincinnati, OH —I Hear Music in the Air, Cincinnati’s premiere gospel event, is set for Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2010. The celebration attracts thousands from throughout the Midwest for a conference, concert, gala and more. This is the ninth year for the event. “I Hear Music in the Air sets out each year to bring together persons from ministries and organizations who desire to build their lives and thus have a stronger walk,” explains CEO Tracey Artis.

 

The weekend kicks off Friday night, May 28, with “I Hear Music Presents the Music Choice Awards” at the Aronoff Center, broadcast live on The Word Network. “We will be celebrating all areas of gospel and praise and worship music,” says Tracey. Categories include gospel artist of the year, song of the year, male vocalist of the year and female vocalist of the year and many others. For a complete list of categories visit the Web site. The star-studded evening features performances by Tamela and David Mann, stars of the TBS hit series, “Meet the Browns,” and Stellar Award winning gospel artist Byron Cage. Attendees will also hear from exciting local favorites on the gospel music scene.

 

Other events include a free teen summit on Saturday at Eden Park’s Seasongood Pavilion, and Saturday afternoon’s I Hear Music free conference at the Aronoff Center. Highlighting the teen summit will be the I Hear Music Idol awards, judged by celebrity artists.

Saturday evening’s event is “An Evening with Marvin Sapp,” also at the Aronoff. Multiple Stellar Award winning, GRAMMY and Dove nominated artist Marvin Sapp will headline the event, with special guests Byron Cage, Darwin Hobbs, Rodney Posey, Kathy Taylor Brown and Christopher. The event will be taped for later broadcast on The Word Network.

 

The weekend wraps up Sunday with the Legends Ball at the Westin Hotel, which celebrates ministries, individuals and organizations that have had an impact on the world. The event is filled with music and celebration of honorees. Honorees for this gala celebration include Sesh Communications, publisher of the Cincinnati Herald, the Urban League, Paul Blackwelll, Lincoln Ware of WDBZ Radio One, and Rev. H. L. Harvey of New Friendship Baptist Church. Lifetime achievement award honorees will be The Clark Sisters. Keynote speaker for the event is Rev. Damon Lynch, Jr.
