In an exclusive Afternoons with Amos interview, new US Attorney Joseph Hogsett revealed that Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, will visit Indy early next year to meet with civil rights organizations and other community leaders. Hogsett also told Amos that recent investigations into civil rights cases were instigated by Washington; not his office. Hogsett explained the duties and responsibilities of the Indianapolis US Attorney’s Office which handles some 61 Indiana counties.  He encouraged those with information on crimes and wrongdoing to contact him. And Hogsett said that his office will be tough on crime, including white collar crime and corruption, as well as be vigiliant against terrorism.  Hear the US Attorney’s interview with Amos above.
