The Belle Report Comes Aboard as Media Partner

Atlanta, GA — It’s a New Year and a New Season!  Especially for those who will attend the 2011 Gospel Heritage Praise & Worship Conference (Feb. 17-19, Potters House Christian Center, Jacksonville, FL). This Conference has become the #1 Urban Praise & Worship Conference in the nation; and is one of the largest national Gospel industry gatherings during Black History Month.

The 2 ? day conference will focus on “Worship that Changes Lives.” Presentations will deal with the ‘who, what, when and how’ of everyday people who become extraordinary “change agents” through Divine worship. Thousands will explore how individual and corporate worship can positively impact society in multiple ways.

Gospel Heritage began 15 years ago, and has become known as the #1 Praise & Worship Conference in the world; renowned for its substantive, well-organized content and speakers; Heritage keeps it real and relevant. The 2011 presentation promises to exceed expectations! Keynote speakers will include: Bishop Kenneth Ulmer (Faithful Central Bible Church, Los Angeles, CA); Pastor Sheryl Brady (Potters House, Allen, TX); and, Pastor Donnie McClurkin (Perfecting Faith Church, Freeport, NY).

In 2001, Bishop Ulmer led his church to purchase the Los Angeles Forum, which became the largest real estate acquisition for an African American-led church in history. Recently, it was announced that the Forum property would be sold (for a profit) to Madison Square Garden.

In 2010, Pastor Sheryl Brady became pastor of The Potters House in Allen, TX. The church launched with a membership of nearly 1500 and is one of the nation’s fastest growing ministries. It is a “satellite” of the mother church in Dallas which was founded and is pastored by Bishop T. D. Jakes.

In 1996, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, who was known globally as one of the most phenomenal Gospel artists in the genre, went back to his hometown of Freeport, N.Y. to launch a ministry that has rapidly accelerated his acclaim to that of prolific pulpiteer.

Joining this cadre of keynoters will be daytime clinicians: Dr. John Guns (St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL), one of the country’s most sought-after speakers; Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson (Grace Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, NY), a master theologian and the trailblazer who recently led the revitalization of the powerful Congress (now “Conference”) of National Black Churches, an umbrella organization inclusive of nine major historically black church denominations; Bishop Derek T. Triplett (Hope Fellowship Church, Daytona Beach, FL), a brilliant preacher and dynamic worshipper; and, Pastor Lawrence Powell (Agape Family Worship Center, Rahway, NJ), a prolific and innovate pastor, teacher and author. These speakers will lead the pastors division of the conference.

The music division of the conference, the strongest and most widely-touted category, will take a new direction in 2011. For the first time, ministers of music will have a slate of sessions directed specifically designed to meet their needs; choir members and worship team members will have a different set of sessions. Dynamic nationally-acclaimed presenters for both divisions will include Dr. Judy McAllister, Min. Stephen Hurd, Min. Steve Lawrence and Min. Jonathan Nelson.

Another innovative component of Heritage 2011 is the ARTIST BOOT CAMP led by BISHOP HEZEKIAH WALKER. Because of massive changes in the way music is produced, distributed, bought and sold, Gospel, like other genres has seen a huge rise in the area of independent artists and labels. During the conference, a special segment will offer cutting-edge information to independents who desire practical business strategies and information from leaders in the industry. This is a one-of-a-kind setting!! Adding to that will be the Heritage Got Talent artist showcase, (Thursday, Feb 17, 11p – 1a) which promises to showcase dynamic artists in front of Gospel industry experts.

The final division of the conference is the dance division. Because dance is a valid, biblical expression of worship, praise dancers, mimes and creative movement professionals have become keenly aware of the need for formal training. Heritage has it! Trent Von Lee (Bridgeport, CT) and Ascension Dancers (Sacramento, CA) provide dynamic leadership and credible experience that help shape dancers into worship leaders.

Sponsors for the conference include: The Word Network, Glory Broadcasting Network, WCGL, urbangospelpromo.com, Blackgospelpromo.com and www.thebellereport.net

Each year, Gospel Heritage presents a special celebration that complements its mission. In 2011, a 25-year Appreciation Service honoring Dr. Teresa Hairston, the founder/chair of the conference, will be the crowning event of the conference. Friday, February 18th, that service will feature special guests from around the country who will salute and celebrate Dr. Hairston, who is also the founder/publisher of Gospel Today Magazine, the longest-running urban Christian lifestyle magazine in the world.

The schedule of the conference is Thursday and Friday (Feb 17, 18), 9a – 5p –Seminars and afternoon classes; 7p-10p – Evening Worship; Saturday (Feb 19) 10a – 1p – Closing Session. Vendor booths will be operational during the conference as well as a special GHF bookstore offering CDs/DVDs of all sessions. For more information: gospelheritage.org or 770.719.4825.
