UPDATE: The first data from the 2010 Census has arrived.  Indianapolis/Marion County has its highest population ever at 903,393; an increase of 5.0% during the decade. Of the state’s 20 largest cities, five are in the Indianapolis Metro area. Including Carmel at 79,191, up 109.9%; Fishers at 76,794; up 103%; Greenwood at 49,791, up 38.2% and Lawrence at 46,001, up 18.2%.  Carmel is Indiana’s 8th largest city, Fishers the 9th largest.

Hamilton County is now Indiana’s 4th largest at 274,569; up 50.3% during the decade. Hendricks is 10th largest at 145,448, up 39.7% and Johnson is the 11th biggest county at 139,654, up 21.2%.
