Contemporary Jazz – Style Gospel Artist Tonya Baker’s

“Miracles” Radio Single Hits Billboard Top 30

Chicago, IL: Kingdom Records recording artist Tonya Baker’s new radio single “Miracles” is breaking new ground for the Dayton, OH native.  The song has debuted at #30 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart. “I am absolutely thrilled about `Miracles’ breaking into the Top 30,” Baker says. “This is a first for me and a real encouragement.  I’m thankful.  It’s a blessing to know that the song is being well received.  I believe it’s such a timely song for us as a people right now.  God doesn’t want us to simply overlook all of the wonderful miracles and blessings He performs for us consistently and to be quite honest; we’re living in a time where we need the miraculous!  I pray that people continue to let it minister to them and remind us to look to Him to do the impossible.”

The rousing ballad hails from Tonya Baker’s forthcoming sophomore CD, The Live Encounter that hits stores on May 3rd. The set is Baker’s first live album. It was staged at The Ginghamsburg Church outside of Dayton, OH in July 2010. Grammy winner Myron Butler, who’s collaborated with stars such as Smokie Norful and Kirk Franklin, produced the project. “The first time I heard Tonya sing, I immediately felt and heard the anointing that God placed on her voice,” says Kingdom Records Vice President, Bernie McLean. “She is a gifted vessel on assignment.”

Backed by a seamlessly tight, backing-group of singers, the engaging song climaxes with Baker’s engaging, and heartfelt adlibs over a joyous call-and-response with the ensemble.  The song was composed by well-known drummer Romel Gibson who has also written hits such as Ruben Studdard’s “Holding On To You, Lord,” L. Spenser Smith’s “Surgery,” and The Anointed Pace Sisters’ tune entitled, “Praise and Worship.” Visit www.kingdomrecordsinc.com or www.tonyabaker.com for more information.
