Democrats in the Indiana State Senate unveiled plans for redistricting Indiana’s nine Congressional Districts and fifty State Senate Districts Wednesday.  Amos talked with St. Sen. Tim Lanane about the plan, called the “Good Government Plan” that creates districts that respect county and townships boundaries, reduces the number of communities divided among districts, protects “communities of interests” and protects and respects the ability of Indiana and Indianapolis’ minority communities to elect legislators and Congresspersons of their choice.

In Indianapolis/Marion County, four Senate Districts would have signfigicant minority represenattion, including two which would be minority-majority districts.  Also, the 7th Congressional District, currently repesented by Andre Carson would consist of Pike, Washington, Lawrence, Wayne, Center and Warren Townships, the City of Beech Grove and a part of Franklin Township.

Democrats want public response and feedback to their plans.  Links to their plans and how to respond are below.
