WISE-UP WEDNESDAY TOPIC

Help!  I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up

How many times do we just give up, throw in the towel, and give in to defeat.   God wants us to e resilient – THE HARDER YOU FALL, THE HIGHER YOU BOUNCE!

Think about this:  Suppose you received a package in the mail, and when you opened it, you saw a beautifully wrapped large envelope with your name written in exquisite calligraphy.  Inside the envelope was an invitation that had these words written on it:

YOU ARE INVITED TO ENJOY A LIFE FILLED WITH MISERY, WORRY, AND CONFUSION!

Would you say yes to such an outrageous invitation?  So why are you choosing that lifestyle?  In spite of your financial difficulties, relationship failures, marriage issues, health challenges, and job loss, you CAN get back up and bounce even higher than you were before!

God says we don’t have the right to blame people and/or circumstances for our behavior.  We can’t use them as an excuse to stay in bondage.  Christ is here to free us, but we miss the message and the messenger.  God promises to give a way to escape regardless of our circumstances.  The escape is provided, but YOU must make use of it.

Picture this scenario in your head:

A man is standing in a burning building, and he is within sight of the back exit but he won’t move.  He’s standing twenty feet away from an escape route and screaming in agony.  Someone rushes in and grabs him and he fights and resists to be pulled out to safety.  That sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?  But that’s many of you are.  God provides the escape, you miss it……so God sends someone to your rescue to help pull you up and you fight and resist, withdraw, back away from the help God has sent or you blame circumstances for your inability to move.

Scripture: —1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation, no matter how it comes or where it leads, has overtaken you and laid hold on you that are not common to man.  But God is faithful to His word and to His compassionate nature, and He can be trusted not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will always provide the way OUT (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.
