Rep. Anthony Weiner apologized to former President Bill Clinton for the “sext” scandal during a phone call following Monday’s press conference, according to Politico.com.
Bill Clinton officiated Weiner’s wedding last year, according to NYPost.com.
Weiner, who admitted Monday that he had sent explicit images and messages to a number of women online, called the former president in the past 48 hours to explain his conduct.
Abedin, who is Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has known the Clinton’s for a long time and was said to be extremely close to the family.
